Unbox Imagination with your kids and have a go at making collage easter eggs from leftover SMARTIES® Tubes.

These can be used in lots of different ways! Hanging from a tree, threaded on to twine for bunting, stuck around a circular piece of cardboard as a wreath or used to make Easter cards!  A great opportunity to get creative with your little ones and re-use SMARTIES® tubes.

You'll need:

1 empty tube of SMARTIES®

Scissors

Paint sticks/Glue & Tissue paper

Recycled cardboard

Hole punch

String


Smart Tips to involve little Smarty pants

Your little one will love getting involved with this hands-on activity. Why not let them help you choose a place in the house to hang them once finished!

Collage Easter Eggs Craft for Kids Step-by-Step

  1. 1

    Open both ends of your smarties tube and cut vertically from one end to the other, then unfold 

  2. 2

    Using the lines in the tube cut it into strips 

  3. 3

    Using your choice of crafting materials decorate each strip (we used paint sticks on some and glue and tissue paper on others) 

  4. 4

    Cut out egg shapes from recycled cardboard or card 

  5. 5

    Apply your decorated strips using glue 

  6. 6

    Cut some circles from any left over strips with a hole punch to create confetti  

  7. 7

    Stick the confetti on to your eggs in your chosen pattern  

  8. 8

    Optional - Create a hole at the top of your finished Easter eggs and thread with ribbon or twine, making a loop to secure  

  9. 9

    Add a bow at the top  

  10. 10

    Your decorated Easter eggs are now ready to hang!
